Date: Friday 3rd February Venue: Volksparkstadion Competition: Bundesliga KO: 19.30
Hamburg are without Gotoku Sakai who is suspended Dennis Diekmeier will replace him.
Strikers Michael Gregoritsch and Pierre-Michel Lasogga are missing through injury but Albin Ekdal returns from suspension.
Bayer Leverkusen are without Hakan Calhanoglu who starts a four-month suspension.
New signing Leon Bailey could feature. Javier Hernandez is still out with an injury.
After defeats last weekend, both Hamburg and Leverkusen are looking to bounce back with victory in this game. Hamburg lost their third game in four outings against fellow strugglers Ingolstadt and are very much in a relegation battle.
Leverkusen also lost, a result which leaves them in ninth position a hefty seven points off the Champions League places. A win for Roger Schmidt’s side is a must if they are to challenge for Europe’s elite competition.
Expect Leverkusen to dominate this game with Hamburg putting in a fight but the team from the BayArena should have too much for their hosts.
Both sides have won only one game in their last four outings.
Hamburg have the worst home record in the Bundesliga.
Julian Brandt is the third top assist maker in the Bundesliga.

Leverkusen: Leno – Henrichs, Tah, Toprak, Wendell – Aranguiz, Kampl – Bellarabi, Brandt – Volland, Kießling
Prediction: Hamburg 1-3 Leverkusen
