Manchester United have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann in a deal that could be worth over £60m, per The Sun.
Jose Mourinho is desperate to bring the forward to Old Trafford to get the best out of fellow big money signings Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba.
The Atletico forward is contracted with last season’s Champions League runners-up until 2021 which is why it could cost Manchester United a large sum exceeding £60m to draw him away from the Atleti.
Griezmann, who recently came third in the 2016 Ballon d’Or, has been linked with a move away from Atletico following a fantastic 2015/16 season which saw him score 32 goals in 54 games.
The Frenchman also shone in the recent European Championships as he earned himself the Golden Boot scoring six goals in France’s seven games. His goalscoring exploits also led him to being named Player of the Tournament and leading the line in the Team of the Tournament.
Manchester United signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer on a short-term deal and with the Swede possibly only spending a year or two more at Old Trafford Griezmann is viewed as the perfect replacement.
The 25-year-old would also add more goals and pace to a possible youthful front three alongside Marcus Rashford and fellow Frenchman Anthony Martial.
