Joey Barton is set to re-sign for Burnley until the end of the season subject to international clearance, per BBC.
Barton left Scottish Premiership club Rangers in mid-November and has since been training with Premier League side Burnley to maintain his fitness.
The 34-year-old joined Rangers on a free from Burnley in the summer but only made seven appearances for the Scottish team.
However, the Englishman had his contract terminated following a training-ground incident in September. Barton was also handed a one-game suspension for breaking the Scottish Football Associations rules on betting.
Barton helped Burnley win the Championship title in May after appearing 38 times for the Clarets and scoring three goals. He has also spent time at Manchester City, Newcastle, QPR, and Marseille.
Burnley currently sit 16th in the Premier League and are three points above the relegation zone. Since promotion back to the top flight Burnley have won five games including victories over Everton and Liverpool.
