Arsenal are looking to bring in Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund if they fail to persuade Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil to extend their stay at the Emirates, per The Telegraph.
Reus, who has struggled so far this season with injury, has averaged just under a goal every two games for Dortmund since his €17.1m move from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012.
The German has helped Dortmund win two DFL-Supercup’s as well as three successive DFB-Pokal finals. Reus was also an instrumental part in the side that lost to Bayern Munich in the 2013 Champions League final.
The 27-year-old has featured in the Bundesliga Team of the Season in each of the last five seasons. Reus would add to the list of big name players who have left Dortmund in recent seasons – Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze, Mats Hummels, and Ilkay Gundogan.
Reports suggest that both Ozil and Sanchez want to stay at the Emirates but back-to-back defeats has seen the Gunners slip away from the title challenge. However, both Ozil and Sanchez are demanding excessive wage increases.
The Daily Express has reported that Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Julian Draxler could also be an option for Arsenal.
