Inter Milan are looking to sign four Manchester United players, The Daily Mail attributes Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport as stating.
The Italian club have a good relationship with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, who led them to the treble five years ago, and they’re looking to exploit their contact with Mourinho in an attempt to capture four players from the Red Devils.
Chris Smalling, Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind are the four players on Inter’s short-list, with the quad of players all only experiencing minimal football this season or finding themselves out of Mourinho’s long-term plans.
Inter are desperate for reinforcements after a woeful start to their season, which cost Frank De Boer his job, but a takeover in the summer has given the San Siro side funds to spend in their attempt to claw their way back into the Champions League.
United are likely to offload Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian in January, if they can, but Inter may have to wait until the summer to land Blind and/or Smalling, as the pair are required due to United’s injury crisis at the back.
Both the sides face huge tests this weekend, with Manchester United hosting Arsenal and Inter playing against arch-rivals AC Milan.
