The England squad notoriously divides opinion among ardent supporters of the nation and interim boss Gareth Southgate’s latest squad offers no exception.
The man in caretaker charge has chosen to go with a tried and tested group of players which have been underperforming for some time, rather than hand places in the squad to a group of players who have excelled during the current campaign.
The chosen group of players will now prepare for a World Cup Qualifier against Scotland and a friendly against Spain, whilst others will need to be patient in their quest to secure a call-up to the squad.
