Roma have climbed up to second place in Serie A, after a thrilling 3-1 win over rivals Napoli in the Derby del Sole on Saturday afternoon.
An Edin Dzeko double gave the Giallorossi a comfortable lead, but before the hour Kalidou Koulibaly got one back for the hosts with a towering leaping header.
Roma secured all three points in the remaining five minutes through Mohamed Salah to leapfrog Napoli up to second, just two points behind leaders Juventus.
Napoli started off brighter in the opening minutes, after a Lorenzo Insigne cross found Jose Callejon on the far right, but the ball was cleared away from danger.
At the other end, Edin Dzeko had a terrific opportunity to giving Roma the lead, running through on goal from a resulting counter attack, however, defender Kalidou Koulibaly made a heroic diving interception to concede a corner kick.
Radja Nainggolan had half a chance on goal in the 25th minute, finding some space on the edge of the area and unleashed a low strike towards goal, forcing goalkeeper Pepe Reina to make save to his right.
On the half hour, the hosts responded, captain Marek Hamsik weaved his way towards the near left post, but his shot was blocked by the defender.
However, it was Roma that took the lead in the final minutes of the half, after a burst of pace from Mohamed Salah down the right flank, to find Edin Dzeko in the middle of the penalty area, who buried his shot into the bottom left corner.
Roma doubled their lead at the start of the second half. Alessandro Florenzi produced a looping free kick towards Edin Dzeko for his second of the match, planting his header into the bottom left corner to give Giallorossi a 2-0 lead.
Napoli pulled a goal back a few minutes before the hour, Koulibaly leaped the highest from the resulting corner kick and produced a towering header into the back of the net.
The Partenopei pressed for an equalizer in the remaining quarter, with Roma trying to hang on to their one goal advantage. But, it was the visitors that extended their lead and sealed the win five minutes from time, thanks to a Mohamed Salah strike, unleashing a low drive off the left hand post securing a 3-1 win for Roma at the Stadio San Paolo.
