Once again, Marseille will be without Romain Alessandrini, Henri Bedimo and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou, who are all missing out due to the injury and pending transfer deals respectively. Abou Diaby is also going to miss out due to yet another injury, whilst Lassana Diarra looks likely to miss out as he looks set to leave OM before the transfer window shuts.
Zargo Toure will likely partner Lindsay Rose at the heart of the defence having served his one-match suspension, with other centre-backs Wesley Lautoa and Pape Paye set to miss out. Didier N’Dong and Benjamin Jeannot will miss the trip to Marseille, with N’Dong picking up a red card last time out against Bastia, whilst Jeannot faces a longer ban after pushing over the referee in the same game.
Marseille have started their season in turmoil, losing 2-1 away to Guingamp last weekend, and are still looking for their first win of the season. Manager Franck Passi has had his preparation disrupted by the news that the club could be taken over, and Marcelo Bielsa could be returning to the managerial hot seat.
Lorient are yet to complete a Ligue 1 game this season with 11 men, after having two men sent off last weekend at home to Bastia as they fell to a 3-0 home defeat, and two weeks ago where they finished with 10 men as they let a 2 goal lead slip away at Caen to lose 3-2.
Neither side have had the ideal start to their respective campaigns, and this game could give either side the win they need to move up the table and gain some serious momentum.
