The Premier League season continued to provide a fresh batch of twists and turns this weekend, as the top four was shaken up once again and struggling sides picked up crucial victories.
Leicester City were, once again, the story of the weekend after their tremendous victory over Manchester City put them six points above the title favourites. The Citizens, incidentally, dropped to fourth after victories for both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
At the bottom, Aston Villa picked up a morale boosting win against fellow strugglers Norwich City whilst Newcastle United did the same against West Brom. There was also a point for Sunderland, who fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Liverpool.
Whilst the results took the majority of the headlines, players put in a shift worth mentioning and this is where we give them the praise they deserve. So here it is, our 25 Team of the Week with OneFootball. Seriously, if you don’t have their great app by now you’re doing football a disservice!
GK: Petr Cech (Arsenal)
Whilst Fraser Forster is in with a shout after yet another clean sheet, helping Southampton to a victory over West Ham, we couldn’t look any further than Arsenal’s Petr Cech. In the Gunners 2-0 victory against Bournemouth, he showed once again just how crucial he was.
Arsenal’s quick-fire double sealed the result but it was Cech who ensured everything remained solid at the back. He made fantastic diving saves, kept Bournemouth out as they rallied late-on and he provided one of the best double saves you’ll see all season.
