Midweek Premier League fixtures gave us a tasty treat in the past few days and the matches didn’t disappoint, with a host of goals and numerous talking points.
There three six goal thrillers, both fortunately televised, as Newcastle United and Manchester United drew 3-3 before Liverpool held Arsenal to the same result.
At the bottom end of the table, Sunderland secured a crucial three points with victory over fellow strugglers Swansea City and West Brom held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw.
On top of that, there was also mouthwatering clashes between Manchester City, Everton, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur!
With so many goals flying in and some brilliant performances, our Team of the Week selections were extremely difficult to make. So much so that we selected two left-backs, drafting one into the centre, as we simply couldn’t pick between the pair!
Once again, a huge thank you to OneFootball and the brilliant work they do putting this together for us- remember, if you haven’t got their app then you’re missing out!

GK: Tim Howard (Everton)
Everton endured a tough visit to title-chasers Manchester City but will have been full of confidence having defeated the Citizens 2-1 in the first-leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final. Here though, the onus was all on City to kick-on in their title charge.
It didn’t quite go to plan though as Everton showed themselves to be shrewd competitors, holding City to a goalless draw- largely down to the brilliant performances of a certain Tim Howard. He’s endured his fair share of criticism this season but on this night, he was unstoppable.
